Davao Cinematheque

There are only 4 cinematheque in the country as of now. Davao City is one of the prime spots that has been chosen by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) to have free admission for movies. It showcases scheduled movies for a month. With the installation of the Cinematheque Davao, it will bring forth awareness of the people of some movies produced here in the country which were not really shown on the big screens. Not only that, we can view international movies as well, with that we can understand and learn from their films as well.

The Cinematheque Davao is installed at the Palma St., Davao City near the People’s Park Exit and Pasalubong Center. This will then be one of the tourist spots of the city.

Lino Brocka’s Statue

Lino Brocka – national artist for films. As tribute to the contribution of Brocka in the film industry, his statue was installed. It will help the people remember the recognition that Brocka brought to the country with his films.
